Trane Thermostatic Expansion Valve

The Trane Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV, also called a TEV or thermal expansion valve) is a metering device for residential and light commercial HVAC air conditioning and heat pump systems. It regulates how much liquid refrigerant flows into the evaporator coil. This helps the system keep the right superheat and cooling performance as the load changes.

Key Features:

• Meters refrigerant flow to the evaporator in response to coil temperature and pressure
• Helps maintain efficient evaporator operation and protects the compressor from liquid floodback
• Designed as a replacement part for Trane equipment
• Available in different tonnage capacities, refrigerant types and connection sizes, so you can match the valve to your system
• Brazed-style refrigerant connections for a leak-resistant installation

A properly working expansion valve helps the system cool evenly, run efficiently and avoid problems such as a frozen coil or poor cooling. Installation should be done by a qualified HVAC technician following standard refrigerant handling practices, including evacuating and recharging the system. Check the specifications of the individual part number to confirm it suits your application.
