Trane VAL11814 Thermostatic Expansion Valve 2 Ton 3/8" x 1/2" ODF

The Trane VAL11814 is a thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) designed for 2-ton HVAC systems. This precision metering device regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil, maintaining optimal system efficiency and performance across varying load conditions.

Key Specifications:

• Cooling capacity: 2 tons (24,000 BTU/h)
• Inlet connection: 3/8" ODF (flare)
• Outlet connection: 1/2" ODF (flare)
• Operating pressure range: 86-127 PSIG
• OEM Trane replacement part
• Brass construction for durability and corrosion resistance

This TXV ensures proper superheat control by modulating refrigerant flow based on evaporator load, preventing liquid floodback to the compressor while maximizing cooling efficiency. The valve's pressure-balanced design provides stable operation across the specified pressure range, making it suitable for both residential and light commercial air conditioning applications.

Installation Note: Requires proper bulb positioning on the suction line and may need field adjustment for optimal superheat settings. Compatible with standard refrigerants used in Trane equipment.
