Danfoss A/C Solenoid Valves: Precision Engineered for HVAC-R
When it comes to controlling refrigerant flow in air conditioning systems, few names carry the weight of Danfoss. A global leader in HVAC-R technology, Danfoss has built a reputation for delivering solenoid valves that combine engineering precision with long-term serviceability — qualities that matter enormously in the demanding environment of A/C systems. Explore the full range of A/C solenoid valves to find the right fit for your application.
The EVR® Series: A Proven Industry Standard
The Danfoss EVR range has a proven track record with more than 30 years of presence in a very wide scope of air conditioning and refrigeration applications such as walk-in cold rooms, display freezers and refrigerators, chillers, rooftops, and close controls. The latest generation, the EVR v2, builds on that legacy with meaningful improvements. Danfoss offers a complete range of direct and servo-operated solenoid valves for air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The easy-to-service EVR® valves can be used in liquid, suction, and hot gas lines, and are compatible with fluorinated refrigerants and most hydrocarbon refrigerants.
You decide how the valves are delivered — as either normally open or normally closed valves and with or without manual operation. You can order Danfoss EVR® valves as a complete unit or as separate components, where the valve body, coil, and flanges can be ordered separately if required. This modularity is a significant advantage for technicians managing inventory or performing field repairs. There is no need to de-solder the complete valve and put a new one into the system — just leave the valve body in place, replace the internal parts as required, and get the system up and running again quickly. Service kits are also available.
EVUL Series: Compact Performance for Tight Spaces
EVUL solenoid valves are specially designed to fit into compact air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The valves are compact and lightweight, and fully hermetic with stainless steel construction for excellent leak protection. The EVUL valves from Danfoss have universal applications — for instance, in liquid, suction, and hot gas lines — and can be used with the majority of fluorinated refrigerants, while remaining highly energy efficient with minimum power consumption.
Advanced Refrigerant Compatibility
Danfoss electromechanical solenoid valves offer advanced control of capacity, hot gas bypass, and liquid injection in air conditioning systems, and are suited for use in the widest range of applications in terms of function, capacity, and design. The solenoid valve portfolio also includes valves optimized for environmentally friendly refrigerants such as R290 and CO₂ , making Danfoss a forward-compatible choice as the industry transitions to lower-GWP refrigerants. The EVR v2 is designed to stand higher Maximum Working Pressure (MWP) — up to 45 bar — making the same valve model compatible with higher-pressure refrigerants such as R410A.
Tool-Free Coil Installation
Danfoss coils for North America feature easy-to-install clip-on coils that require no tools to attach. Once in place, coils remain secure until removed with a standard screwdriver. Danfoss solenoid coils are usually ordered separately from the solenoid valves, giving you maximum flexibility by enabling you to select a valve and coil combination best suited to your needs. The EVR® series is supplied in versions normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO) with a de-energized coil, and offers a wide range of clip-on coils for AC and DC, rated up to IP67.
Whether you are servicing a rooftop unit, a chiller, or a compact mobile A/C system, Danfoss A/C solenoid valves deliver the reliability and flexibility that professional technicians depend on.
