Standard Motor Products TS513 Engine Cooling Fan Temperature Switch

The Standard Motor Products TS513 is a direct-fit replacement cooling fan temperature switch engineered to restore proper electric cooling fan operation. This thermostatic switch monitors engine coolant temperature and signals the fan control circuit to activate or deactivate the electric cooling fan at the correct threshold, helping prevent overheating and maintaining optimal operating temperature.

Standard Motor Products coolant fan switches utilize a custom wax formulation that expands when heated to activate a snap-action electrical contact, transferring the signal to the fan controller. Each unit also incorporates a formed bimetallic contact arm, where movement is achieved through the different expansion rates of two fused metals — a creep-action mechanism that delivers precise, repeatable performance. All switches are individually calibrated and tested to confirm actuation at their specified temperature.
