Product Details

The Standard Motor Products TS511 is a direct-fit replacement coolant fan switch, also sold under the Intermotor brand. This thermal temperature switch monitors engine coolant temperature and signals the radiator cooling fan to activate, helping maintain safe operating temperatures and prevent overheating.

The TS511 uses a bimetallic contact arm design in which two metals with different thermal expansion rates are fused together. As coolant temperature rises, the bimetal element flexes and triggers the switch contact at a precisely calibrated set point. This creep-action mechanism delivers accurate, repeatable performance across the service life of the part.
