Standard Motor Products TS179 Engine Cooling Fan Temperature Switch

The Standard Motor Products TS179 is a direct-fit replacement engine cooling fan switch, also known as a radiator fan temperature switch or coolant fan thermal switch. This stock-style switch monitors coolant temperature and signals the electric cooling fan to activate, helping regulate engine operating temperature and prevent overheating.

Key Features:

• Stock replacement thermal switch style for a precise OEM-equivalent fit
• Engineered to meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications
• Utilizes a bimetallic contact design — two metals fused together expand at different rates, triggering the switch at a precise coolant temperature threshold
• Custom wax pellet formulation expands when heated to activate a snap-action electrical contact, transferring the signal to the fan controller
• All units are calibrated and tested to confirm switch actuation at the correct specified temperature
• Robust construction using high-grade materials suited to demanding under-hood conditions
• No relay, sending unit, wiring harness, or manual override switch included — direct switch replacement only
• UPC: 091769088972
