Xylem-Bell & Gossett Relief Valve

The Xylem-Bell & Gossett ASME safety relief valve line (also called a hot water relief valve or pressure relief valve) protects fired and unfired hot water vessels from hazardous overpressure. These valves suit hydronic heating systems, boilers, direct-fired water heaters and storage tanks with indirect heaters.

Key Features:

• Built in accordance with Section IV of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for heating boilers, with capacities certified by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors
• High BTUH capacity ratings, which Bell & Gossett describes as the highest available for valves in their class
• EPDM diaphragm and seat. Cast iron models are diaphragm operated, and bronze models are diaphragm assisted.
• Effective area about 5 times greater than conventional pop-type relief valves, which helps overcome the effects of fouling
• Low differential between opening and closing pressures, which helps prevent system water from flashing to steam and causing hammering
• Threaded NPT connections for straightforward installation in heating piping
• Rated for a maximum operating temperature of 250°F (121°C)
