Airtex Fuel Vapor Storage Canister

The Airtex Fuel Vapor Storage Canister, also called a fuel vapor canister, EVAP canister or charcoal canister, is a key part of your vehicle's evaporative emission control system. It captures and stores fuel vapors from the fuel tank so they do not escape into the atmosphere.

Key Features:

• Holds fuel vapors in an activated carbon element until the engine can burn them
• Works with the purge valve to send stored vapors to the intake, where they are burned during normal engine operation
• Helps the vehicle meet evaporative emissions requirements
• Replacement part from Airtex, a long-established name in fuel system and engine management components
• Helps prevent fuel odor and keeps the EVAP system working as designed

A failing canister can cause fuel odors, trouble filling the tank, poor running, or a Check Engine light with EVAP-related codes. Replacing a cracked, saturated or damaged canister restores proper vapor control and emissions performance.
