J.C. Whitney JM960932 Upstream Oxygen Sensor 4-Wire Heated OEM Replacement 4-Cyl 2.4L

The J.C. Whitney JM960932 is a heated upstream oxygen sensor (O2 sensor) designed as a direct OEM replacement for the Mitsubishi Galant and Eclipse equipped with the 4-cylinder 2.4L engine. This sensor mounts before the catalytic converter and plays a critical role in monitoring exhaust gas composition, allowing the powertrain control module (PCM) to continuously adjust the air/fuel mixture for optimal combustion efficiency and emissions compliance.

Key Features:

• Sensor Type: Heated upstream oxygen sensor (O2S)
• Wire Configuration: 4-wire design
• Engine: 4-cylinder, 2.4L
• Mounting Type: Threaded, direct-fit installation
• Connector: Male connector, direct plug-in replacement
• OEM-style replacement — restores factory performance and sensor response

A failing upstream O2 sensor can trigger check engine lights, cause poor fuel economy, rough idling, and failed emissions tests. Replacing it with a proper OEM-equivalent sensor like the JM960932 restores accurate exhaust monitoring and helps the engine management system maintain the correct air/fuel ratio. The integrated heater element allows the sensor to reach operating temperature quickly, even during cold starts.
