J.C. Whitney JRS96090004 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor OEM Replacement

The J.C. Whitney JRS96090004 is an OEM replacement upstream heated oxygen sensor designed for the Suzuki Vitara and XL-7. This sensor monitors exhaust gas oxygen content and feeds real-time data to the engine control module (ECM), allowing the fuel injection system to maintain the optimal air/fuel ratio for efficient combustion and reduced emissions.

Key Features:

• Upstream (pre-catalytic converter) placement — monitors exhaust gases directly from the engine for accurate fuel trim feedback
• Heated sensor element — reaches operating temperature faster than unheated designs, improving cold-start efficiency and reducing emissions
• Symmetrical RH=LH design — a single part number serves both right and left positions, simplifying replacement and inventory
• OEM replacement specification — engineered to match original factory fit, form, and function
• Compatible with Suzuki Vitara (1999–2000) and XL-7 (2002–2006)

A faulty upstream oxygen sensor can cause poor fuel economy, failed emissions tests, rough idle, and an illuminated Check Engine light. The JRS96090004 restores proper closed-loop fuel management and helps maintain catalytic converter longevity by ensuring accurate fuel mixture control.
