GPD 1812973 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1812973 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) designed to restore proper engine management function. The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold, where it monitors for abnormal vibrations associated with engine knock, pre-ignition, or detonation. When detected, the signal is relayed to the engine control module (ECM), which adjusts ignition timing to protect the engine and optimize performance.
