GPD 1812958 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor Replacement

The GPD 1812958 is a direct-fit replacement ignition knock sensor, also known as a detonation sensor, engineered to restore proper engine management function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) manufactures this sensor to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) fit, form, and function standards.

What Is a Knock Sensor?

The knock sensor monitors the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold for abnormal vibrations associated with engine pre-ignition or detonation — commonly referred to as engine "knock" or "ping." It sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which then adjusts ignition timing to prevent damaging combustion events and maintain optimal engine performance and fuel efficiency.

Key Features:

• Designed to meet or exceed OE fit, form, and function specifications
• 100% tested for durability and reliable performance prior to packaging
• Direct-fit replacement — no modifications required for installation
• Helps protect the engine from pre-ignition and detonation damage
• Supports proper ignition timing correction via the ECM
• Backed by GPD's 12-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

Replacing a faulty knock sensor with the GPD 1812958 helps restore accurate engine timing control, protecting internal engine components and maintaining fuel economy. This sensor is sold as an individual unit.
