GPD 1815062 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1815062 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) designed to restore proper engine management function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) engineers this sensor to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) fit, form, and function specifications, ensuring a reliable plug-and-play replacement.

The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold, where it continuously monitors engine vibrations. When it detects the abnormal vibration signatures associated with pre-ignition or detonation (engine knock), it sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which then retards ignition timing to protect the engine from damage.

Key Features:

• Engineered to meet or exceed OE fit, form, and function specifications
• 100% tested for durability and reliable performance
• Direct-fit replacement — no modifications required
• Detects engine knock and detonation to protect internal engine components
• Helps maintain optimal ignition timing and fuel efficiency
• Built from premium materials for long service life
• Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty

A faulty knock sensor can trigger a Check Engine light and cause the ECM to default to overly conservative timing, resulting in reduced power and fuel economy. Replacing a worn or failed knock sensor with the GPD 1815062 restores precise engine timing control and helps prevent long-term engine damage.
