GPD 1815049 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1815049 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) engineered to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) fit, form, and function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) is a national distributor of aftermarket automotive engine management and HVAC parts, supplying quality components since 1974.

The knock sensor monitors the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold for the high-frequency vibrations associated with engine knock, pre-ignition, or detonation. When knock is detected, the sensor sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which retards ignition timing to protect the engine from damage and restore optimal combustion.

Key Features:

• Designed to meet or exceed OE fit, form, and function
• 100% tested for durability and reliable performance
• Direct-fit replacement — no modifications required
• Manufactured from premium materials for long service life
• Helps restore proper ignition timing control and engine efficiency
• Protects the engine from damage caused by detonation and pre-ignition

A failed or faulty knock sensor commonly triggers a Check Engine light and can result in reduced engine performance, poor fuel economy, and long-term engine damage if left unaddressed. The GPD 1815049 is a professional-quality replacement designed to restore full engine management functionality.
