GPD 1815017 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor Direct Fit Replacement

The GPD 1815017 is a direct-fit replacement ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) engineered to restore proper engine management function. The knock sensor mounts on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold, where it continuously monitors for the abnormal vibrations associated with engine pre-ignition and detonation.

When the ECU detects a knock signal, it retards ignition timing to protect the engine from damage — making a properly functioning knock sensor essential to both engine performance and longevity. A failing knock sensor can trigger a check engine light (DTC P0325–P0332 range) and cause reduced power, poor fuel economy, and long-term engine wear.
