GPD 1815011 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1815011 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) designed to restore proper engine management function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) engineers this sensor to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) fit, form, and function standards, making it a reliable replacement for a worn or failed factory unit.

What Is a Knock Sensor?

The knock sensor mounts to the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold and continuously monitors engine vibrations. When it detects the abnormal vibration signatures associated with pre-ignition or detonation (commonly called engine knock or ping), it signals the engine control module (ECM) to adjust ignition timing. This protects the engine from damage and helps maintain optimal fuel efficiency.

Key Features:

• OE-equivalent fit — engineered to match the original sensor's form, fit, and function for a hassle-free installation
