GPD 1814998 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1814998 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) engineered to restore proper engine management function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) manufactures this sensor to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) fit, form, and function standards, ensuring a reliable drop-in replacement for the factory unit.

Key Features:

• OE-matched design — engineered to meet or exceed original equipment specifications for precise fit and function
• 100% tested for durability and performance before leaving the factory
• Direct-fit replacement — installs in the same location as the original sensor with no modifications required
• Detects pre-ignition and detonation — monitors unusual engine vibrations and signals the ECU to adjust ignition timing accordingly
• Protects engine components — prevents damaging knock events from going undetected
• Professional quality construction from a trusted OE-style supplier

The knock sensor mounts directly to the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold and functions by sensing abnormal vibrations caused by engine pre-ignition or detonation. When knock is detected, the signal is sent to the engine control unit (ECU), which retards ignition timing to protect internal engine components. A failed or faulty knock sensor can trigger a check engine light and cause reduced engine performance or long-term engine damage if left unaddressed. The GPD 1814998 is backed by a 12-month warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
