GPD 1814989 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1814989 Ignition Knock (Detonation) Sensor is a direct-fit replacement sensor engineered to restore proper engine management function. The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold, where it monitors for abnormal vibrations caused by engine pre-ignition or detonation — commonly known as engine knock or ping.

When the sensor detects these irregular vibrations, it sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which adjusts ignition timing to protect the engine from damage. A failed or faulty knock sensor can trigger a check engine light, reduce fuel efficiency, and leave the engine vulnerable to harmful detonation events.
