GPD 1814988 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1814988 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) engineered to meet or exceed original equipment fit, form, and function. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) is a national distributor of aftermarket automotive engine management and HVAC parts, supplying professional-quality components to repair shops and consumers across the United States.

Key Features:

• Direct-fit replacement — designed to install in the same location as the original sensor with no modifications required
• Meets or exceeds OE specifications — engineered to match original equipment fit, form, and function
• 100% tested for durability and performance before leaving the factory
• Premium materials for long-lasting, reliable service
• 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold. It detects abnormal engine vibrations caused by pre-ignition or detonation (engine knock) and sends a signal to the ECU, which retards ignition timing to protect the engine from damage. A failed knock sensor will typically trigger a Check Engine Light and may cause reduced engine performance or fuel efficiency.
