GPD 1816213 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1816213 is a direct-fit ignition knock sensor (also known as a detonation sensor) engineered to OE specifications as a reliable replacement for your vehicle's original component. Knock sensors are critical engine management parts that protect your engine from the damaging effects of pre-ignition and detonation.

How It Works:

The knock sensor is mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold, where it continuously monitors for abnormal vibrations associated with engine knock or pinging. When detonation is detected, the sensor generates a voltage signal that is sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Engine Control Unit (ECU), which then retards ignition timing to eliminate knock, safeguard internal engine components, and restore optimal combustion.

Key Features:

• Direct-fit replacement designed to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) fit, form, and function
• Engineered to stringent OE specifications for accurate signal output and long service life
• Built to withstand extreme engine heat, vibration, and chemical exposure
• Restores proper ignition timing control and helps prevent engine damage from detonation
• Backed by GPD's 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship

A faulty knock sensor can trigger a Check Engine Light, cause reduced engine power, poor fuel economy, or audible pinging under load. Replacing a failed sensor with the GPD 1816213 restores the ECU's ability to protect and optimize engine performance.
