GPD 1811945 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor

The GPD 1811945 is a direct-fit replacement ignition knock sensor, also known as a detonation sensor, designed to restore proper engine management function. Knock sensors are mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold and monitor for abnormal vibrations caused by engine pre-ignition or detonation — commonly heard as engine knock or pinging.

When the sensor detects these vibrations, it sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM), which then adjusts ignition timing to protect the engine and maintain optimal performance and fuel efficiency. A failed or faulty knock sensor can trigger a check engine light, cause poor fuel economy, reduce power output, and — if left unaddressed — lead to long-term engine damage.
