GPD 1811879 Ignition Knock Detonation Sensor Replacement

The GPD 1811879 is a direct-fit replacement ignition knock sensor, also known as a detonation sensor, engineered to meet or exceed original equipment specifications. GPD (Global Parts Distributors) has been a trusted supplier of quality automotive components since 1974, delivering professional-grade parts at competitive prices.

The knock sensor is typically mounted on the engine block, cylinder head, or intake manifold. Its primary function is to detect the abnormal engine vibrations associated with pre-ignition (spark knock or pinging) and send a corresponding voltage signal to the engine control module (ECM). The ECM then adjusts ignition timing and the air/fuel mixture to eliminate knock and protect the engine from damage.

Key Features:

• Direct-fit replacement — no modifications required for installation
• Engineered to meet or exceed OE fit, form, and function
• 100% tested for durability and performance prior to packaging
• Helps restore proper ignition timing and fuel efficiency
• Prevents engine damage caused by uncorrected detonation
• Backed by GPD's one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship

A failing knock sensor commonly triggers a Check Engine light and can result in reduced engine performance, poor fuel economy, and long-term engine wear if left unaddressed. The GPD 1811879 restores accurate knock detection so the ECM can keep your engine running at its optimal timing curve.
