Field Controls 46590506 Motorized Fresh Air Damper - FAD-6 6 Inch 24VAC

The Field Controls FAD-6 is a 24VAC power-open, power-close motorized air damper designed for installation in a fresh air ventilation duct connected to an outdoor air intake hood and a duct fan or the HVAC return plenum, controlling the flow of fresh air into residential HVAC systems.

This damper is typically controlled by the HHSC or HHSC+ Ventilation Control as part of the Healthy Home System™ to meet ASHRAE 62.2 and other fresh air ventilation codes and standards, but can also be used in stand-alone applications for passive or fan-induced fresh air ventilation or makeup air systems.

Key Features:

• Constructed of stainless steel body and gate for corrosion resistance and durability
• Tear-resistant closed-cell foam rubber seal tested over 500,000 cycles
• Very low power requirement and minimal air flow resistance
• Motor and circuit board certified for 100,000+ cycles
• Seal flammability meets FMVSS-302 standards
• Power-open, power-close operation for reliable performance
• 6-inch diameter for standard duct applications

When activated, the damper opens to allow fresh air to be pulled into the return plenum where it is mixed with conditioned air, filtered, and distributed throughout the home. The damper remains closed when not in use to prevent unwanted infiltration and maintain energy efficiency.
