Burnham 8116324 Automatic Vent Damper - 7-Inch GVD-7BN

The Burnham 8116324 is a 7-inch automatic vent damper designed specifically for Burnham boiler models 207, 208, IN7, and IN8. This essential component improves heating system efficiency by controlling airflow through the vent system, preventing energy loss during boiler off-cycles.

Key Features:

• 7-inch diameter automatic vent damper with GVD-7BN designation
• Includes integrated wiring harness (8136291) and loose knockout for simplified installation
• Aluminum base construction with durable damper assembly
• Automatic operation opens damper before burner ignition and closes after shutdown
• Dual safety switches ensure burner fires only when damper is fully open
• Compatible with both 24 VAC intermittent ignition and standing pilot systems
• Opens and closes in approximately 15 seconds
• Hold-open switch for service and troubleshooting

How It Works:

This automatic vent damper installs in the vent pipe after the draft hood. During off-cycles, it remains closed to prevent heat loss from the boiler and conditioned space escaping up the chimney. When the thermostat calls for heat, the damper motor rotates the blade 90 degrees to the open position before allowing the burner to fire. Once heating is complete, the damper automatically closes to maximize efficiency.

Benefits:

• Reduces off-cycle venting losses and improves overall boiler efficiency
• Prevents infiltration of cold air during downdrafts
• Retains residual heat within the boiler and living space
• Does not interfere with existing safety controls when properly installed

This is a genuine Burnham replacement part designed for reliable performance in residential and commercial heating applications.
