The distributor cap plays a critical role in the ignition system by routing high-voltage current from the ignition coil to each spark plug in the correct firing order, igniting the air/fuel mixture in the engine's cylinders. A worn or cracked distributor cap can cause a range of drivability issues that this replacement is designed to resolve.

Neglecting a failing distributor cap can lead to symptoms including check engine light (CEL/MIL) illumination, engine misfires, increased fuel consumption, loss of power, and failed emissions tests. The Wells 5D1153 distributor cap is built to restore dependable ignition performance and long service life.
