Beru 616-602-907-02 Ignition Condenser for Cast Iron Distributor

The Beru 616-602-907-02 is a precision-engineered ignition condenser designed for contact breaker point ignition systems used in classic automotive applications. This essential component works in conjunction with the distributor's contact breaker points to ensure reliable spark generation and protect the ignition system.

Key Features:

• Designed specifically for cast iron distributors in classic vehicles
• Prevents electrical arcing across contact breaker points, extending point life
• Absorbs voltage spikes when points open, protecting contact surfaces from erosion
• Accelerates magnetic field collapse for stronger, more reliable spark generation
• OEM-quality construction from Beru, a trusted name in ignition components
• Direct replacement for original equipment condensers

In a points-type ignition system, the condenser plays two critical roles: it eliminates damaging electrical arcing between the contact points when they open, and it speeds up the collapse of the ignition coil's magnetic field to produce a strong high-voltage spark. Without a properly functioning condenser, contact points will burn and pit rapidly, leading to poor engine performance or failure to start. This Beru condenser is manufactured to precise capacitance specifications to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
