Battery Tender Electrical, Charging and Starting

About Battery Tender® by Deltran

Battery Tender® is one of the most recognized and trusted names in battery charging and power management. Founded in 1965 in DeLand, Florida, the brand operates under its parent company, Deltran — a family-owned engineering and manufacturing business with deep roots in power conversion electronics. Deltran’s origins lie in power conversion and electronics, eventually pioneering the world’s first line of fully automatic smart battery chargers under the Battery Tender name in 1988. That milestone fundamentally changed how vehicle owners think about battery maintenance.

Innovation That Keeps Batteries Alive

The Battery Tender line of battery chargers revolutionized the industry by incorporating microprocessors that regulate proper charge algorithms and prevent overcharging — a common problem associated with older trickle chargers. Today, that microprocessor-driven intelligence has evolved into Battery Tender’s proprietary ISM (Infinite Sequential Monitoring™) technology. ISM delivers a precise 4-stage charge sequence — Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption, and Float — preventing the overcharging and sulfation that can permanently destroy batteries.

Whether you’re maintaining a daily driver, a seasonal motorcycle, a stored RV, or a working boat, Battery Tender has engineered a solution for it. Their broad lineup of battery chargers spans an impressive range of voltages and chemistries. Products are compatible with flooded lead-acid, AGM, gel cell, and lithium (LiFePO4) battery chemistries, making them suitable for virtually any modern vehicle or powersports application.

A Brand Built for Every Vehicle and Every Season

With a strong focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Battery Tender has consistently delivered exceptional performance and cutting-edge solutions across the automotive, powersport, marine, and RV markets. Their battery charger offerings range from compact, single-output maintainers ideal for motorcycles and ATVs to multi-bank commercial units designed for fleet and dealer use.

Beyond chargers, Battery Tender also manufactures vehicle batteries engineered to pair seamlessly with their charging ecosystem. Rounding out the lineup are practical battery cable accessories — including their signature ring terminal harnesses and SAE quick-disconnect leads — and the switches & connectors that make connecting a charger to a stored vehicle fast and tool-free.
