When to Use P-Series Bearings:

P-Series rod bearings are specifically designed for racing engines operating at extremely high RPMs where severe rod bore distortion occurs. These bearings feature the greatest amount of eccentricity in the Clevite performance bearing lineup, making them ideal when standard bearings show nearly full parting line to parting line shaft contact. The extra clearance design allows for select fitting and optimal oil film thickness under extreme conditions.

Application Notes:

Each set includes two bearing shells for one connecting rod. For a complete 6-cylinder engine rebuild, order quantity of 6 sets. These bearings work best in conjunction with P-Series main bearings, which feature full groove oiling to maximize oil flow to the connecting rods. Signs that P-Series bearings are needed include bearing surface polishing, smearing, or discoloration concentrated at the axial center—indicators of oil starvation under extreme loads.
