Wilwood Thermlock Brake Caliper Piston

Wilwood Thermlock brake caliper pistons are performance replacement pistons for disc brake calipers. They work as a thermal barrier that limits heat transfer from the brake pads into the caliper body, seals and brake fluid. Wilwood developed them for the sustained high heat of NASCAR and road racing.

Key Features:

• Multi-part construction: a stainless steel shield is paired with a coated aluminum shell.
• Better heat control: Wilwood says the design cuts heat transfer by at least 25 percent.
• Longer service life: lower operating temperatures help prevent seal crystallization and localized fluid boiling. They also reduce distortion in the caliper body and piston bores.
• Replacement or upgrade: use them as service replacements or as upgrades in many current and older Wilwood calipers, including those with stainless steel pistons.

These pistons suit street performance, track and racing brake setups. They help keep braking consistent under repeated hard use and protect the caliper's internal components.
