SBI Valve Keeper Set Cylinder Head

SBI valve keepers, also called valve locks, collets, cotters or keys, secure the valve spring retainer to the valve stem in a cylinder head. They hold the valve train geometry in place, so they matter in any cylinder head rebuild or reconditioning job.

Key Features:

• Made by S.B. International (SBI), a cylinder head component supplier that added valve keepers to its line in 1997
• Replacement valve locks for engine cylinder head valve train assemblies
• SBI makes keepers in several styles, including square groove, round groove with one or more beads, no bead and pin type
• Each keeper style is made to the hardness its application requires
• Part numbers in this family are individual SKUs, so choose the one listed for your application

Used keepers wear in with the mating valve and retainer. Installing new keepers during cylinder head reconditioning helps keep the parts mating correctly. It also helps avoid groove failures that can come from mismatched, worn keepers.
