SBI KL8443 Valve Keeper Set Cylinder Head Valve Lock

The SBI KL8443 is a replacement valve keeper (also known as a valve lock or valve retainer clip) from S.B. International, a premier manufacturer of cylinder head components serving the automotive, light and medium-duty truck, diesel, agricultural, marine, and industrial engine markets worldwide.

Valve keepers are small but critical components in the valvetrain assembly, securing the valve spring retainer to the valve stem and maintaining proper valve spring tension. Replacing worn valve keepers during cylinder head reconditioning is strongly recommended, as mismatched or worn keepers can cause stress fractures and catastrophic valvetrain failures.

Key Features:

• Manufactured from high-quality hardenable or carbon steel, selected to meet specific application requirements
• Meets or exceeds OEM specifications for proper fit and function
• Standard hardness range of 40–50 HRc for reliable, long-lasting performance
• Available in multiple styles including square groove, round groove with 1–4 beads, no-bead, and pin type
• Precision stamped or machined depending on application requirements
• Designed to mate properly with new valves and valve spring retainers during cylinder head rebuilds

SBI valve keepers are manufactured using Statistical Process Control (SPC) quality testing to ensure consistent specifications in every part. Replacing valve keepers as part of any cylinder head reconditioning procedure helps prevent premature component wear and potential engine damage.
