C.e. Smith Bearing Protector with Cover

The C.E. Smith Bearing Protector with Cover helps protect trailer wheel bearings. Boat, utility and RV trailer owners use it to keep moisture and road grit out of the hub. It is also sold as a trailer hub bearing protector or wheel bearing protector.

Why it matters: Trailer hubs warm up on the road. When they are backed into cool water, the air inside contracts and creates a vacuum. That vacuum can pull water and grit into the hub, contaminating the grease and causing corrosion and premature bearing wear. A bearing protector keeps the hub filled with grease and slightly pressurized, so contaminants stay out.

Key Features:

• Maintains slightly positive pressure inside the hub to keep corrosion-causing moisture out
• Automatic pressure relief feature helps prevent over-filling, which can damage seals
• Chrome-plated steel construction for durability
• Includes a custom-fitted PVC cover that keeps road grime out and grease in
• Helps extend the life of trailer wheel bearings
• Made in the USA

This line from C.E. Smith gives trailer owners a simple way to protect their hubs and reduce wear and tear. Each variant is made for a specific hub dust cap diameter.
