Xylem Angle Steam Trap 25 PSI

The Xylem angle steam trap (also called an angle thermostatic steam trap or angle-pattern condensate trap) is a 17C-series balanced-pressure thermostatic trap for low-pressure steam systems. It is rated for 25 PSI operating pressure. It discharges air and condensate and closes against the passage of steam, so heat transfer equipment can work efficiently.

Key Features:

• Balanced-pressure thermostatic element that adjusts automatically to changing pressure and temperature conditions
• Angle-pattern body with female NPT connections
• Normally open at start-up for fast air venting, which helps systems come up to temperature more quickly
• Sub-cools condensate, usually 10 to 30 degrees F below saturation temperature, to make good use of the heat in the steam
• Self-draining design, and the fail mode is open
• Brass body with a stainless steel thermostatic element and internal components
• Resists corrosion and moderate water hammer
• Made in the USA

Applications: This trap suits institutional, commercial and residential steam heating systems where low to moderate water hammer may occur, such as schools, hospitals and apartment buildings. It also drains equipment such as convectors, radiators, unit heaters, heating coils, steam kettles, evaporators, sterilizers and steam tracing lines.

Its compact, simple construction and dependable air venting make it a practical choice for low-pressure steam heating service.
