BBP Drum Brake Self-Adjuster Cable

The BBP Drum Brake Self-Adjuster Cable line, also sold as brake adjuster cables or self-adjusting brake cables, supplies replacement cables for drum brake self-adjusting systems. BBP sells under the Better Brake Parts name. These cables help keep rear drum brakes correctly adjusted as the linings wear.

How It Works:

As the brake shoes wear, they have to travel farther to reach the drum. Once the shoes pass the adjuster's travel threshold, the cable pulls the adjusting lever to the next notch on the adjuster screw. This resets the shoe-to-drum clearance so braking performance stays consistent.

Key Features:

• Replaces worn, stretched, or broken self-adjuster cables
• Helps maintain proper shoe-to-drum clearance as the linings wear
• Helps keep pedal feel and brake balance consistent
• Works as part of the drum brake self-adjusting assembly, alongside the adjuster lever, spring, and cable guide
• Available in multiple configurations to cover a wide range of drum brake applications

Replacing a worn cable restores automatic adjustment and helps prevent the excess pedal travel and uneven lining wear that a failed adjuster can cause. Replacing the related hardware at the same time, such as the guide, springs, and levers, is a good practice when servicing drum brakes.
