Dayco Stretch Serpentine Belt

The Dayco Stretch Serpentine Belt, also known as the Dayco ELA stretch belt or self-tensioning drive belt, is an OE-style accessory drive belt. It is made for engines that use a stretch belt in place of a conventional belt with a tensioner. It installs with a stretch-fit design, so no automatic or manual tensioner is needed. Dayco is a long-established supplier of engine and drive system products.

Key Features:

• Self-tensioning design: The belt's elasticity provides the tension that specific OE stretch-belt drives require.
• Wear-resistant EPDM rib material: It resists wear and helps the belt last.
• Elastic EPDM cushion rubber: This layer surrounds the tensile cord and gives the adhesion and flexibility needed for lasting performance.
• Polyamide tensile cord: The cord allows the high elongation needed for installation. It also holds tension to carry the accessory loads the drive demands.
• Application: Intended for two- to four-point accessory drives that do not use an automatic or manual tensioner.

A stretch belt is made slightly shorter than the drive path, so a new belt may look undersized next to the old, stretched one. This is normal. Many applications call for a zip tie or a belt installation tool to guide the belt onto the pulleys. Dayco ELA stretch belts help keep drive tension steady, which supports quiet, reliable accessory operation.
