Emerson Flow Control (Alco) Refrigeration Accumulator ODF Ton

Emerson Flow Control (Alco) refrigeration accumulators, also called suction line accumulators or suction accumulators, protect the compressor in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. They install in the suction line between the evaporator and compressor. Their job is to hold back liquid refrigerant and oil so that only vapor reaches the compressor. This helps prevent liquid slugging and floodback.

• Compressor protection: Temporarily stores excess liquid refrigerant. This covers floodback after defrost, reversing flow in heat pumps, and sudden load changes.
• Metered oil return: An internal orifice with a strainer or screen returns oil to the compressor crankcase at a controlled rate.
• ODF copper connections: Solid copper ODF (sweat) fittings make field brazing simple and leak-resistant.
• Corrosion-resistant finish: An epoxy powder-paint coating protects the shell in demanding mechanical environments.
• Refrigerant compatibility: The line is designed for common HVACR refrigerants such as R-22, R-134a, R-404A, R-407C, R-410A and R-507A. Check the specific part's datasheet for its approved refrigerants.
• Range of capacities: The line is sized by nominal tonnage and ODF connection size to suit a wide range of system capacities.

Installation Notes: Mount the accumulator as close to the compressor as practical in the main suction line. Protect it from compressor vibration, for example with a vibration absorber. After brazing, pressure test the system.
