EMPI Flywheel Shim VW Beetle Bus

EMPI flywheel shims, also called flywheel end play shims or crankshaft shims, are precision spacers used to set crankshaft end play on air-cooled Volkswagen Type 1-based engines. Setting end play correctly is an important step in any engine build or rebuild. It helps protect the main bearings from premature wear.

Key Features:

• Precision-made shims for setting flywheel and crankshaft end play
• Offered in a range of thicknesses, so you can fine-tune the final clearance
• Built as replacements for the original VW flywheel shims, with OE reference numbers listed on the individual part pages
• Suited to stock rebuilds as well as performance engine builds
• From EMPI, a long-time supplier of air-cooled VW parts

VW used a combination of shims to reach the correct end play, so you can mix thicknesses to hit your target measurement. Choose the exact size you need from the variants on this page.
