EMPI 98-1279-B Flywheel Shim 0.32mm (.0126") for VW Beetle Bus

The EMPI 98-1279-B is a precision-machined flywheel shim designed for Volkswagen air-cooled engines. This shim measures 0.32mm (0.0126 inches) in thickness and is used to properly space the flywheel from the crankshaft, ensuring correct alignment and clearance in the engine assembly.

Key Features:

• Precision thickness of 0.32mm (.0126") for accurate flywheel positioning
• Manufactured by EMPI, a trusted name in VW performance and replacement parts
• Essential for proper engine balance and clutch operation
• Compatible with VW Beetle, Bus, Karmann Ghia, and dune buggy applications
• Sold individually for custom engine builds and rebuilds

Flywheel shims are critical components when rebuilding air-cooled VW engines, as they compensate for machining tolerances and ensure proper crankshaft endplay. Using the correct thickness shim helps prevent premature wear and ensures smooth clutch engagement.
