IAP Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder

The IAP Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder (also called a brake wheel cylinder or drum brake slave cylinder) is a replacement hydraulic component for vehicles with drum brakes. It is mounted at each drum brake assembly, usually near the top above the brake shoes.

How It Works:

• Converts hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder into mechanical force.
• Pushes its internal pistons outward when you press the brake pedal.
• Presses the brake shoes against the inside of the drum to create the friction that slows the vehicle.
• Uses rubber cups and seals to hold brake fluid inside the cylinder and keep the pistons moving smoothly.

• Wheel cylinders can leak as seals age. Leaking brake fluid reduces braking performance and can contaminate the brake shoes and drum.
