Trane VAL11905 Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) 3/8" x 1/2" ODF 3-Ton

The Trane VAL11905 is a genuine OEM thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) engineered for 3-ton residential and light commercial HVAC systems. This precision metering device features a 3/8" ODF inlet and 1/2" ODF outlet, and is designed as a direct factory replacement to restore proper refrigerant flow and system efficiency.

The TXV is a critical component in the refrigeration cycle, located at the evaporator coil. It continuously monitors system conditions and meters the flow of liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator to maintain a consistent target superheat — protecting the compressor from liquid flooding while maximizing cooling capacity.

Key Features:

• Genuine Trane OEM part — engineered to exact factory specifications for reliable, long-term performance
• 3-ton capacity — matched to 36,000 BTU residential and light commercial coil applications
• 3/8" ODF inlet x 1/2" ODF outlet — direct-fit connections for compatible Trane evaporator coils
• External equalizer — accurately senses evaporator outlet pressure for precise superheat control across varying load conditions
• Internal check valve — supports both cooling-only and heat pump system configurations
• Replaces failed or erratic TXV causing symptoms such as frosting on the suction line, erratic superheat, or reduced cooling capacity

As a Trane ServiceFirst component, the VAL11905 is matched specifically to compatible coil models and refrigerant charge. Always verify the MPN against your equipment's service manual or parts list before installation. Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician.
