Motorad EVP0178 EVAP Vapor Canister Charcoal Emissions Canister

The Motorad EVP0178 is a replacement evaporative emissions control (EVAP) vapor canister engineered to restore proper fuel vapor management to your vehicle's emissions system. As a key component of the EVAP system, this charcoal canister captures and stores fuel vapors from the fuel tank, preventing them from venting directly into the atmosphere and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Features:

• Superior-grade activated charcoal bed matched to OEM capacity — charcoal volume and adsorption quality validated to OE specifications to handle peak vapor loads without premature saturation
• Multi-layer internal flow design distributes vapors evenly through the charcoal media to support stable adsorption efficiency over the life of the part
• Corrects known OE failure modes — housing crack points, port geometry, and charcoal retention are engineered to address root-cause weaknesses in the original part
• Pressure-cycle tested for modern EVAP system demands — housing validated to withstand repeated vacuum and pressure cycles, resisting fatigue cracking that causes slow leaks and persistent EVAP fault codes
• Meets or exceeds all OEM specifications for a direct-fit, no-modification replacement

When the engine is running, stored fuel vapors are purged from the canister back into the intake manifold to be burned, improving fuel efficiency and reducing harmful emissions. Replacing a failed or saturated vapor canister is essential for resolving EVAP-related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and restoring emissions system readiness for OBD-II monitors.
