Wells 6P1017 Positive Crankcase Ventilation PCV Valve Replacement

The Wells 6P1017 is a direct-fit replacement Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve engineered for classic domestic vehicles. A PCV valve is a one-way valve that routes blow-by gases from the engine's crankcase back into the intake manifold and combustion chamber, reducing harmful emissions and preventing pressure buildup that can damage seals and gaskets.

Wells Vehicle Electronics designs each PCV valve to meet or exceed original equipment (OE) specifications for fit, form, and function, ensuring a straightforward, no-modification installation. The PCV valve is typically located on or near the intake manifold and is one of the most commonly overlooked scheduled maintenance items on any engine.

Why Replace Your PCV Valve?

• Recommended replacement interval: every 30,000 miles
• A failing PCV valve can cause rough idle, oil leaks, increased oil consumption, and excessive engine sludge
• Neglecting replacement promotes sludge formation that clogs engine internals and causes premature wear
• Restores proper crankcase pressure regulation and emissions compliance
