Rein 11-61-1-440-049 Intake Manifold Adjusting Unit DISA Valve BMW M52

The Rein 11-61-1-440-049 is a replacement intake manifold adjusting unit, also commonly known as a DISA valve (Differentiated Intake System Adjuster), designed for BMW vehicles equipped with the M52 engine. This component is mounted on the intake manifold and plays a critical role in engine performance and efficiency.

How It Works:

The DISA valve controls the effective length of the intake manifold runners by opening and closing an internal damper flap based on engine speed and throttle position. At lower RPMs, longer runner lengths enhance low-end torque; at higher RPMs, the valve adjusts to optimize airflow for top-end power. This variable intake runner system helps deliver strong performance across the full RPM range.

Symptoms of a Failing DISA Valve:

• Loud rattling or banging noise from the engine bay
• Rough idle or off-idle hesitation
• Low-RPM power loss or hesitation
• Check engine light with lean mixture or related fault codes

Why Replace Promptly:

A worn or broken DISA valve should be addressed immediately. The internal flap and its retaining pin are subject to wear, and if the pin breaks, the flap can be ingested into the intake manifold, causing severe engine damage that is far more costly to repair than a simple valve replacement.

Key Features:

• Direct OEM replacement for BMW part number 11611440049
• Restores proper intake runner control for optimized torque and performance
• Resolves rattling, rough idle, and lean fault codes associated with DISA failure
• Sold as a single unit
