Dorman 624-650 Transmission Cooler Line Thermostatic Bypass Valve

The Dorman 624-650 is an OE FIX transmission cooler line thermostatic bypass valve designed to restore proper transmission fluid temperature regulation in select GM vehicles. This valve replaces the factory unit that commonly fails due to thermal stress and pressure cycling, which can cause transmission fluid to bypass the cooler entirely or flow incorrectly, leading to overheating or poor warm-up performance.

Key Features:

• Direct replacement for failed OE thermostatic bypass valve
• Regulates transmission fluid flow between cooler and bypass circuits based on temperature
• Engineered with upgraded materials to resist thermal degradation and extend service life
• Helps maintain optimal transmission operating temperature for improved performance and longevity
• Vehicle-specific design ensures proper fit and function
• Part of Dorman's OE FIX line, addressing common failure points in original equipment

This thermostatic bypass valve is a critical component in automatic transmission cooling systems, allowing cold fluid to bypass the cooler during warm-up for faster temperature rise, then redirecting flow through the cooler once operating temperature is reached. Replacing a faulty valve can resolve issues like delayed shifting, harsh engagement, or transmission overheating.
