ATP 102052 Engine Harmonic Balancer - 3-Groove Flat Belt, Standard Replacement

The ATP 102052 is a standard replacement engine harmonic balancer designed to restore proper crankshaft vibration dampening. A harmonic balancer serves a critical function: it absorbs and dampens the torsional vibrations generated by the crankshaft during engine operation. The unit is constructed in three layers — a central hub that bolts directly to the crankshaft, a rubber dampening layer that absorbs vibration, and an outer metal pulley ring with belt grooves. Over time, the rubber layer deteriorates, causing the outer pulley to shift forward, leading to belt misalignment and, if left unaddressed, potential crankshaft damage. Replacing a worn balancer — also commonly called a crank damper or crankshaft dampener — restores the engine to normal operation.
