Product Details

The Sumitomo Encounter HT2 is an all-season highway terrain tire engineered for drivers of SUVs, crossovers, light trucks, and full-sized vans who demand dependable year-round traction with a smooth, quiet ride. Built to balance the needs of the daily commute with long-distance travel, this tire delivers confident performance in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions.

Key Features:

  • Optimized symmetric tread design provides even tread wear, simple rotation options, and stable dry handling performance
  • Wide interconnected circumferential grooves effectively channel water from the footprint for enhanced hydroplaning resistance
  • Wave-shaped lateral sipes integrated into robust tread blocks create stable biting edges for superior traction on wet and wintry roads
  • Smooth curved shoulder grooves trap airborne noise in the pattern for a remarkably quiet, comfortable ride
  • Reinforced twin steel belts promote even wear for extended tread life and improved dry handling stability
  • Full-width jointless nylon overlay optimizes high-speed stability
  • Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake and M+S rated for severe weather performance
  • 60,000 mile limited treadwear warranty

With a 640 UTQG treadwear rating and XL load range construction, the Encounter HT2 combines durability, longevity, and performance at an exceptional value for drivers who need a reliable tire for everyday use and highway travel.
