Bosch 1987473578 Brake Pad Wear Sensor

The Bosch 1987473578 Brake Pad Wear Sensor is an electronic safety component designed to alert drivers when brake pad replacement is needed. This OEM-quality sensor mounts directly to the brake pad and maintains frictional contact with the brake rotor surface throughout the pad's service life.

Key Features:

• Electronic wear indicator eliminates high-pitched squealing from metal-to-metal contact
• Triggers dashboard warning light when brake pads reach minimum thickness
• Designed to wear at the same rate as the brake pad for accurate monitoring
• Functions as a resistor connected to the vehicle's computer module
• Spring clip mounting interface provides secure retention
• Built to OEM specifications for reliable heat resistance and fail-protection
• Extra strong cables prevent premature failure from heat or abrasion

When brake pads reach their wear limit, the sensor's electrical circuit is interrupted, immediately alerting the driver through the vehicle's warning system. This eliminates the need for visual brake inspections and helps prevent unsafe brake pad wear. The sensor must be replaced whenever new brake pads are installed to ensure continued wear monitoring.
