Actually, perfect
Purchased this Draw-Tite 24967 hitch for a 2014 Prius Plug-in. I believe the two are not listed as compatible, although the regular Prius is. So I took a chance. Space between hitch and frame/body components was tight enough that I questioned my decision a couple times, but everything went together without forcing anything — just as Draw-Tite had planned. So metal-to-metal installation was uneventful.
The instruction sheet, however, could have been MUCH clearer, especially photos of the three locations where the plastic underbody panel was to be cut. It was frustrationg and time consuming to sort it out. This seems to be a common complaint from end users, so why not fix the problem?
I also purchased two M12 x 1.25 x 40mm bolts because the 30mm OEM bolts on the muffler side seemed too short. Not a game changer, but, had they been included with the hitch, I wouldn’t have had to make a trip out.
That the hitch’s cross bar is tucked above the bottom of the car’s bumper was critical to my being able to keep the car aerodynamic. That 2”x36” bar would have caught a lot of air had it been lower. Excellent design.
Price was reasonable, too, for something designed and fabricated so nicely. I’m very pleased with the transaction and results.
