Product Details

The Dorman 590-231 is a direct-fit replacement air bag impact sensor engineered to restore proper airbag system function. This front-mounted, 2-terminal sensor continuously monitors for sudden, extreme deceleration events, signaling the vehicle's onboard computer to determine whether airbag deployment is warranted — a critical component in any supplemental restraint system (SRS).

Designed as a plug-and-play replacement, the 590-231 installs without reprogramming and will clear the airbag warning light once properly fitted. It replaces OEM part number 20919987 and is engineered to match the original sensor's fit, form, and function.

Key Features:

  • Direct OEM replacement — matches the fit and function of the factory sensor
  • Plug-and-play installation — no reprogramming or special tools required
  • Clears the airbag warning (SRS) light upon installation
  • Fits front left and front right sensor positions
  • 2-terminal female connector for factory-correct connection
  • Replaces OEM part number 20919987
  • Built from quality components for long-term durability and reliable performance
  • Includes mounting bolt — ready to install out of the box
  • Backed by Dorman's product engineering team with over a century of automotive aftermarket experience

Each package includes 1 sensor and 1 mounting bolt. Sold individually.
