The COMP Cams Mutha' Thumpr CL34-601-5 is a high-performance hydraulic flat tappet camshaft and lifter kit specifically engineered for Ford 429 and 460 cubic inch big block engines. This aggressive cam delivers a distinctive lope at idle and strong mid-range to top-end power, making it ideal for street/strip applications and muscle car enthusiasts seeking that classic aggressive sound with modern performance.

Camshaft Specifications:

  • Advertised Duration: 286°/300° (Intake/Exhaust)
  • Duration at .050": 234°/249°
  • Valve Lift: .533"/.544" (with 1.73:1 rocker ratio)
  • Lobe Separation Angle: 107°

This camshaft provides excellent vacuum characteristics for power brakes and works well with stock or mildly modified engines. The Mutha' Thumpr profile produces a more aggressive idle than the standard Thumpr series while maintaining good drivability. Requires upgraded valve springs (not included) for proper operation. Best suited for vehicles with 3.55:1 or higher rear gear ratios and a 2,500+ stall torque converter for automatic transmissions.
